North West was baptised in “epic” fashion at a Jerusalem ceremony, it has been confirmed.

The 22-month-old baby, who is the daughter of reality star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West, underwent the religious rite at the Cathedral of Sts. James in the historic Armenian Quarter of the Israeli metropolis’ Old City area, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Cathedral of Sts. James dates back to the 12th century and apparently North’s baptism was quite the historic affair.

“They flew [into Jerusalem] especially for [the baptism],” a source told People magazine. “They knew it was close to Armenia and it was always a dream to come to Jerusalem. There’s an Armenian quarter and they did it at this old beautiful church. It was epic. So beautiful.”

A representative for Kim confirmed to the outlet North’s baptism took place on Monday.

Kim and her sister Khloé Kardashian spent five days in Armenia before the family landed in Israel this week. Kanye joined his brood’s tour of the Middle East and performed a concert in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital city. Unfortunately his show was shut down by authorities after Kanye jumped in a lake.

While in Armenia, Kim and Khloé participated in a number of high-profile activities. The sisters met with the Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and they also visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan last Friday.

Prime Minister Abrahamyan’s office issued a statement to ABC News naming Kim and Khloé as unofficial ambassadors of Armenian history.

“The premier hailed Kardashian family’s contribution to the cause of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian genocide, highlighting their visit’s importance in the run-up to the genocide centennial,” a part of the statement reads.
