BB King has been released from hospital following a health scare last week.

King was taken to the hospital over the weekend for what was reported as severe dehydration stemming from his diabetes. The blues great, who is 89, ended his regular whirlwind of dates every year and there has been concern in the music community over his health but BB has reassured everyone he is feeling better.

King took to Facebook to post a message to his fans saying “”I want to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes. I’m feeling much better & am leaving the hospital today.”

King, who has reportedly played over 15,000 shows in his almost 70 year career as a performer. He recorded his first record in 1949 and released his first album, Singin’ the Blues, in 1956. His last album (so far) was 2008’s One Kind Favor. He topped the R&B charts three times with You Know I Love You (1952), Please Love Me (1953) and You Upset Me Baby (1954) but is probably best known for his 1970 single The Thrill is Gone (#3 R&B / #15 Pop).
