Twisted Sister are going on the road one more time before ending their 43 year career.
The band will do a final tour in 2016 before calling it quits. The Forty and F**k It Tour will include Mike Portnoy on drums for the late A.J. Pero. Dee Snider took to his Facebook shortly after the story broke to confirm, saying “It’s official. Farewell. New drummer announced…”
Twisted Sister was originally formed in 1972 in a lineup that included Jay Jay French but the true group lineup would evolve over the next six years as Eddie “Fingers” Ojeda joined in 1975, Dee Snider in 1976 and Mark “The Animal” Mendoza in 1978.
The band has recorded six studio albums and one holiday set, scoring their biggest hit in 1984 with We’re Not Gonna Take It which reached number 21 on the Hot 100.
The band is also planning a couple of A.J. Pero tribute shows, who died in March. The first of which will be June 13 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. The band only has one more 2015 date on May 30 at Metal Meltdown in Las Vegas.
