Idris Elba loves “all the musical classics”.
The 42-year-old is best known for his acting career, having starred in hit TV show Luther as well as big budget Hollywood movies including Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and Thor. On top of that he also has a successful job as a DJ under the moniker DJ Big Driis. But his music credentials could have taken a battering after an omission to the British edition of Cosmopolitan.
“I've got Now That's What I Call Musicals so, all the musical classics," he told the outlet when asked what cheesy tunes he had on his iPod. "I've got all of that man - show tunes, the Annie soundtrack. Sorry, but I just love it!"
As well as being known for the characters he takes on, Idris has become something of a style icon.. But yet again, he managed to shatter his cool dude image by revealing to the publication how he likes to dress behind closed doors and what he likes to get up to.
“I'm always walking about in my dressing gown, always! I'm never putting proper clothes on - dressing gown and slippers. Proper grandpa stuff,” he laughed. “I do a lot of playing FIFA on my X-Box like a lad. I do sing in the shower. I like really hot showers… they've got to be hot. That's when I crack out the show tunes and the Grease Lightening!"
However when he was asked what music he would put on if he was getting up close and personal with a woman, Idris pulled a classic singer out of the bag.
“I always go for a bit of Marvin Gaye, a little old school soul. I like house, as well,” he added.
