Liam Payne has denied rumours he has a drink problem.
Yesterday inquisitr.com posted an article claiming the One Direction star's boozing had been making it hard for him to perform while on tour with the band.
But not one to take anything lying down, the 21-year-old star clarified that this is not the case.
"@IQShowbiz now I don't really like responding too news articles anymore but i really think this is out of order I don't have a problem," he addressed the publication's Twitter page.
"@IQShowbiz I don't drink anymore than a uni student my age so don't treat me like I'm any different to a normal boy my age
"@IQShowbiz thanks for worrying but I don't spend my time off stage drinking I play video games with friends and go to the gym (sic)"
The singer is known for airing his views on social media but has been lying relatively low for a while. Realising how many people can see his tweets, he decided to give his followers a special message.
"Apologies for the rant guys have a nice evening x (sic)," he posted.
One Direction's future has been questioned recently, amid gossip Harry Styles is planning to leave the band.
The 21-year-old heartthrob has been writing music with the likes of Meghan Trainor, which has prompted fears he's set to leave the other boys.
The group still have plenty of tour dates ahead, with their On the Road Again shows not set to finish until October.
