Kelly Clarkson feels “powerful” when she hears the song Sia wrote for her.

The 32-year-old American pop star is currently promoting her seventh studio album Piece by Piece, which was released last week.

Sia penned the record’s second single, Invincible, with her Chandelier co-writer Jesse Shatkin, and Kelly couldn’t be more impressed with the Australian singer-songwriter’s talent for creating an empowering tune.

"I love hearing a song that I feel like I could have written, in terms of the message," Kelly told USA Today. "I feel powerful when I listen to that song."

Invincible, which was released digitally on February 23, might have been a duet.

But Kelly decided against it, as both she and Sia share the same record label.

However, Sia did contribute backing vocals to the track.

"We have very different voices, so it rubbed really nicely," Kelly noted. "I kept hers, then I did all the same things and blended them together. I wanted it to sound like a swarm of vocals.”

Although she and Sia didn’t duet, Piece by Piece does feature one hot collaboration between Kelly and John Legend.

She and the R&B icon, who recently won an Academy Award for his Selma soundtrack song with Common called Glory, sing together on her tune Run Run Run.

"The song is very raw and very tragic, in the sense that love can lift you up and make you feel like you're flying, and, at the same time, you can find a whole new level of low,” Kelly explained of the track.

"John was the perfect vocalist for it, and I knew we blended well. A lot of people sing well, but a lot of people don't blend well. It's nice to find that person that matches up."
