Kris Jenner played “major hardball” to negotiate the Kardashians’ new mega contract with E!, it has been claimed.

It was reported earlier this week that the Kardashian family – Kris, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian – had signed a staggering new deal with the network worth an alleged $100 million to continue shooting their reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians for another four years.

And sources have now revealed that it was Kris’ threat to take her family away from the network that led to the contract.

“This has been in the works for almost a year,” a Kardashian insider told Page Six. “Kris is a fierce negotiator. She was playing major hardball and threatening to leave.”

However, E!, a network which has been made famous worldwide largely due to the family’s show, apparently knew there was little they could do apart from comply with Kris’ demands.

So network bosses eventually agreed to sign the record-breaking contract with the family.

“E! needs them”, the source added.

Page Six also claimed that while NBCUniversal had earlier denied the deal was $100 million, it is actually that much, but bosses don’t want to damage any future business talks by confirming the figure.

It has also been reported that the return of the most famous Kardashian, Kim, is still to be confirmed.

According to RadarOnline.com, Kim is considering not going back to the programme because she wants to focus on more than just the show.

“Kim has made so much money already, that doesn’t matter,” a source told the site. “She thinks reality TV may not be for her anymore.”
