Gary Glitter aka Paul Gadd Gary has finally got his sentence in his native UK.

Being sentenced under his real name Paul Gadd the former iconic singers fall from grace is complete. He has been jailed for 16 years for sexually abusing three young girls between 1975 and 1980 reportd the BBC.

He now faces the very real prospect of dieing in prison. His crimes were for attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one of having sex with a girl under 13.

Judge Alistair McCreath said he could find "no real evidence" that Gadd had atoned for his crimes.

The 70-year-old wore a black velvet coat and burgundy scarf and showed no emotion as he left the dock at Southwark Crown Court.

Glitter, from Marylebone, central London, had denied the allegations against him.

Judge McCreath told Gadd that it was clear his victims "were all profoundly affected" by his abuse of them.

"You did all of them real and lasting damage and you did so for no other reason than to obtain sexual gratification for yourself of a wholly improper kind," he said.
