'Distant Past' is the new single from the always inventive, forward-thinking Everything Everything.

This much anticipated return sees this Manchester-based four-piece bring experimentation and ambition back to pop music, alongside heavy doses of wit and intelligence. 'Distant Past' has been produced by Stuart Price (The Killers, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna). It features house piano stabs and the band's unique vocal harmonising to create a bold pop single that is at once infectious and thought provoking.

In the words of lead singer and songwriter Jonathan Higgs: "Distant Past is about primal human nature, and no matter how far we progress in our civilisations, we can never escape it."Jonathan has also directed the video, carrying on from his previous work on the band's past visual output.

'Distant Past' is the first new music since Everything Everything's acclaimed second album 'Arc', released in 2013 and entered the album charts at Number 5. Their debut 'Man Alive' won the South Bank Times Breakthrough Award and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2011, whilst they have picked up three Ivor Novello nominations over their two previous albums.

Everything Everything’s third album 'Get To Heaven' is released 15th June on RCA Records. The record sees Everything Everything evolve still further, pushing and pulling themselves into different spaces and shapes from before. A tour de force, it's set to be one of the most exciting releases of 2015.
