Christina Milian isn't offended when people compare her show to the Kardashians'.

Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian rose to fame on their own reality series and have subsequently turned their family name into a global brand.

US singer-and-actress Christina has also recently turned her hand to reality TV with her E! show Christina Milian Turned Up. The programme follows her and her tight knit Cuban-American family, and the 33-year-old is far from upset with comparisons to Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

"It's understandable. We are definitely not offended. We like their show and their dynamic - plus they're very successful," Christina mused to FOX411. "Of course, we are different people with a different upbringing. But like any group of siblings we all have different character traits and our mom is big on ‘family first.’

"We've always been like this, so it's interesting to watch and see that we aren't the only ones who work in a family setting. I guess what makes their show work is that their family is relatable to everyone in some way or another. And I think we are too."

Christina shot to fame when she released her self-titled debut record in 2001. Her second release became a hit around the world, with album track Dip It Low entering the top ten in the UK, America and New Zealand among other countries.

The singer is also a mother, gushing that her four-year-old daughter Violet with ex-husband The-Dream is her sunshine.

When asked to share tips on making it in music, Christina was happy to share some pearls of wisdom.

"Never give up. Never stop being creative in finding ways to get exposure. Also, be prepared anytime and all the time. You never know who you will run into," she advised.
