Following the success of the last two years, The Gig Company are thrilled to announce details of ‘An Evening With Suggs And Friends’ in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK. Including performances from the legendary Madness and acclaimed chart-toppers Rudimental, this year’s event will be held at The Emirates Stadium on March 12th 2015.

The perfect marriage of music legends and a band that have taken the charts and critics by storm, this is set to be an incredible night, for an incredible cause. In conjunction with the event, and Suggs’ continuous efforts to fundraise for Pancreatic Cancer UK, the charity has also recently announced him as their Ambassador.

Pancreatic Cancer UK is a charity very close to Suggs’ heart, having painfully lost his sister-in-law to pancreatic cancer. He says, ”My wife Anne's sister, Alanah, was such a big part of our lives. She radiated the most extraordinary, non judgemental joy everywhere she went. She is no longer here. Her illness and death from pancreatic cancer came as a huge shock to us all and at her wake we vowed to do something to help research into pancreatic cancer. I am delighted to be an Ambassador for Pancreatic Cancer UK and will do all I can to support the charity. For the third consecutive year "An evening with Suggs and friends" organised by the Gig Company will take place in Alanah's memory.”

One person dies of pancreatic cancer every hour and it is the fifth biggest cancer killer in the UK, yet receives only 1% of the total research spend . To address the lack of funding for the disease, Pancreatic Cancer UK funds critical and innovative research.. Through its funding it supports projects focusing on the early detection and diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and into the identification of individuals at high risk of developing the disease. This year the charity has invested £1M towards this vital work.

Rudimental said, “It's an honour to be asked to be a part of The Gig Company's 'An Evening With Suggs and Friends' and to play alongside Madness, they are such heroes! It's an incredible cause, raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. We are pleased to be a part of this event to help raise awareness. It's going to be an amazing night and we're really looking forward to it!"

The Gig Company was established by Suggs’ daughter Viva McPherson and Jenny Johnson in 2012 with the aim of putting fun back in to fund-raising through live music events. The target is to raise over £100,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK from this event which could fund an innovative research project, helping to improve earlier diagnosis of the disease. So far, the previous ‘An Evening With Suggs and Friends’ fundraisers have raised over £200,000 for the charity.
