T.I. thinks Iggy Azalea should focus on music, not media controversy.
Iggy has been under fire recently, feuding with Azealia Banks on Twitter, arguing with Jill Scott and Eve over her alleged “blaccent” and spatting with shoe designer Steve Madden.
And T.I., who has previously defended Iggy and signed her to his Grand Hustle record label in 2012, thinks it’s time the Australian rapper keep her mouth shut, noting it’s “absolutely not” in her best interest to continue reacting to controversy.
"I think she should focus on what got her here. That’s her music, her performing. And continue to just present her talents to the world," he told a TMZ paparazzo.
T.I. went on to compare Iggy’s situation to that of NFL Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s recent bout with the media.
Tom was accused of deflating footballs in order to win playoff games so his team can land in the Super Bowl and the media has dubbed this controversy, ‘Deflategate’.
When the paparazzo said “leave all the drama alone, right?” while referring to Iggy, T.I. responded with: “pretty much”.
"It's just like asking Tom Brady if he should be commenting on Deflategate,” T.I. said. “You know what I’m saying? You should be worried about the big game on Sunday."
Iggy most recently came under fire after expressing her distaste over the media campaign she stars in for shoe designer Steve Madden.
The New Classic rapper went on a Twitter rant Thursday noting how much she despises the images.
"I worked really hard on the creative direction of both the shoes and the shoot I WAS involved with and in,” she wrote in tweets that have since been deleted.
"I really feel it's been tainted with these God awful images that Steve madden took upon (sic) themselves to create and share without my knowledge. Gross gross gross."
Representatives from the Steve Madden shoe brand told ET Online the company is fine with her comments, noting they’re nothing more than a “lover’s quarrel”.
