Tom Brady says Jay Z gets him “hyped up”.

The 37-year-old has hefty responsibilities as the quarterback for the New England Patriots in American football. And to make sure he’s energized before he hits the field, he’s admitted he listens to the famed rapper’s music.

"Oh man, something that gets me hyped up, usually Jay Z,” Tom said at a press conference when asked about his pre-match routine, according to E! News. “He's been a favourite of mine for a long time."

He’ll surely be blasting the Watch the Throne star prior to this coming weekend, when he faces one of the sport’s biggest days of the year. The Super Bowl takes place on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona, and Tom has admitted he’s more than a little excited.

But this moment will be even more special for Gisele Bundchen’s husband, as he’ll make history by being the only quarterback to play in his sixth Super Bowl.

"I never imagined this in my wildest dreams," Tom confessed of the impending record. "It's unbelievable to play in one."

The athlete’s supermodel wife will surely be cheering him on for the big game. However, he told reporters she opted out of the press conference in order to take care of their two children, five-year-old Benjamin and two-year-old Vivian Lee.
"She's at home with the kids," he said.

It sounds as though she won’t be the only one paying attention to Tom’s form on Sunday. Benjamin is apparently also starting to become invested in the sport.

Although he admitted Vivian isn’t yet old enough to embrace football, he said of Benjamin: "I got one that loves sports.”
