Kanye West thinks smiling doesn’t “look as cool” as keeping a straight face.
The Bound 2 singer is renowned for not flashing his gums when surrounded by the paparazzi. And now the 37-year-old has revealed why he made the decision to remain stony faced.
“Back when I was working on Yeezus, I saw this book from the 1800s and it was velvet-covered with brass and everything,” he said while presenting an award to Milk Studios founder Mazdack Rassi on Thursday. “I looked at all these people's photos and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren't smiling and people, you know the paparazzi, always come up to me, ‘Why you not smiling?’ and I think, not smiling makes me smile. When you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling cause it just wouldn't look as cool [sic].”
Kanye attended the event without wife Kim Kardashian. However the reality star could be giving her husband something to smile about very soon as she is reportedly planning on another naked photo shoot, which her spouse approves of. She has posed nude before of course, in the infamous Paper magazine ‘Break the Internet’ shoot last year, but this time Kim is hoping to be photographed while pregnant.
“Kim is determined to not gain as much weight as she did with North because she wants to look super hot in the naked pregnant photo shoot,” an insider revealed to Radar Online. “Convinced she is a muse for photographers and fashion editors, Kim is planning on doing the shoot for a major magazine, and isn’t opposed to doing full frontal nudity.
“Kanye is absolutely supportive of Kim, and loves the idea of doing a very artistic nude photo shoot while pregnant.”
