Jessie J doesn't care if her songs don't make everyone happy.
The British singer is currently planning to take the US by storm with her latest album Sweet Talker.
She's enjoyed huge hits with songs like Price Tag and Do It Like A Dude in the past, but never set out to make music others would enjoy.
"Music was my therapy and I didn't care that it wouldn't make people feel happy or spirit free," she said of one of her tracks when quizzed on BBC Radio 1.
The full interview will be broadcast tonight, with Jessie offering fans a teaser on Twitter.
"Hey guys hear my story on @BBCR1 tonight at 9pm with @jameelajamil Sneaky preview (sic)," she tweeted.
Debut album Who You Are was released in 2011 and made the 26-year-old an instant hit. In 2013 Alive came out, while Sweet Talker dropped last year.
A lot has changed for Jessie since she first burst on to the scene.
"I was 17 when I wrote the first album. My outlook on life is very different, the way I conduct myself is very different," she admitted.
During the interview, Jessie also addresses people who "didn't want to support" her and who didn't believe in her talent.
And despite all her success, the star has down days like everyone else.
"Of course some days I'm like, 'Arrrgh! Leave me alone!'" she laughed. "But then at the same time I'm just like, 'Meh.'"
