Katy Perry's pals reportedly fear she's letting John Mayer "waltz back into her life".

The two music stars called time on their relationship at the beginning of last year amid claims he had been unfaithful after dating on-and-off since June 2012, but it seems the former couple have kept in contact.

Earlier this month, they were spotted out for dinner together in Los Angeles and multiple sources claim they were kissing and holding hands at the table.

Although they are said to have grown closer recently, those close to Katy are apparently not happy about her seeing John again.

"Katy and John reconnected over a dinner date around a month ago and John's been wooing her with romantic love letters and gifts," a source told British magazine Closer. "He's promised he's put his bachelor days behind him, but her friends say she'd be foolish to let him waltz back into her life after he hurt her, and warn her that he might never change."

It's no surprise her friends are worried, as Katy's relationship with John began after her 14-month marriage to Russell Brand ended in 2011.

But according to sources, Katy says she's just having fun with her former flame and getting some musical advice from him.
"She's told friends she's just enjoying time with John and said he's helping her prepare for her Super Bowl performance next month," the insider added.

Katy will be belting out her vocals during the Super Bowl halftime show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 1. Her taking to the stage follows in the footsteps of massive stars such as Sir Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, and she'll be joined by Lenny Kravitz on the day.

"Can I be human and say yes, I will be nervous! But I'm going to, kind of, recycle those nerves and make them adrenaline," Katy recently told NBC's Today show.

"I was weeping. And I was weeping all day actually. I could kind of well up right now."
