Beyoncé Knowles reportedly "respects" the path Kendall Jenner is taking.
Beyoncé's husband Jay Z is close friends with fellow rapper Kanye West, who is married to Kim Kardashian. Although the men get along well things are said to be frosty between the women, not least because Beyoncé and Jay didn't attend Kanye and Kim's wedding last year.
However, that hasn't stopped the superstar singer bonding with Kim's younger half-sister Kendall.
"Bey knows better than anyone that sisters can be different to one another," an insider told British magazine Heat, referencing her sibling Solange. "And she understands that Kendall is close to her family, even though they move in completely different circles. But for the first time, Bey saw that Kendall is trying to make her own path in life, and she respects that."
Apparently Beyoncé and Kendall have even been chatting on the phone, which was masterminded by the model's pal Taylor Swift. This is said to have thrilled Kendall, who is a massive fan of Beyoncé and has been to several of her concerts.
"Taylor and Beyoncé were chatting at Taylor's 25th birthday party, and when Taylor brought up Kendall, Beyoncé mentioned that she thought Kendall was different from the other Kardashians. Of course Taylor told Kendall this - and Kendall was over the moon! Taylor encouraged Kendall to call Bey, and Kendall was beside herself when Beyoncé actually picked up," the source said.
"[Beyoncé] mentioned that she knew all about Kendall's career - modelling for Chanel and Vogue, and walking at Fashion Week."
