Avril Lavigne has branded rehab rumours “hilarious”.
The 30-year-old has had a tough year, with gossip surfacing in September that she is set to divorce her husband Chad Kroeger. The pair tied the knot in 2013, prior to which Avril was wed to Sum 41 rocker Derek Whibley for over four years until 2010.
Now she’s had to deal with claims she’s visited a facility to deal with depression and substance abuse, with reports suggesting she's struggling with her rumoured breakup. But Avril has taken to Twitter to clear things up.
“The rehab RUMORS are hilarious! The only thing I'm addicted to right now is Bing Crosby. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! and to all a goodnight! (sic)” she posted on her official page.
The star and Nickelback frontman Chad, 40, have remained tight-lipped about the state of their relationship, but both have been spotted out partying separately. On September 27, Avril celebrated her 30th without her husband and sans her wedding ring.
On top of all this, the Complicated singer has been dealing with health issues. These resulted in her missing shows and she even had to spend some time in hospital.
Avril used her Twitter account to show appreciation for everyone who has supported her during this period.
“Thank you to all the fans for the sweet get well messages and all the tweets. I appreciate the lovely notes and well wishes from everyone. (sic)” she wrote.
