Ashlee Simpson is expecting a child with husband Evan Ross.
The couple married in August at his mother Diana Ross’ home. And it was confirmed on Thursday by E! News that the newlyweds are set to become parents.
The 30-year-old is already a mother to Bronx, six, from her first marriage to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. The couple were married in May 2008 but divorced in November 2011. She began dating Evan in the summer of 2013.
The happy news comes soon after Evan revealed that they were keen to start a family together.
“I would like [having kids],” he told E! News , “As many as possible!”
While the couple are yet to comment on their impending arrival directly, they have been happy to share details of the nuptials since they took place in the summer.
Proceedings kicked off when Ashlee, who arrived in a horse-drawn-carriage, walked down the aisle. Bronx watched from the sidelines wearing a dapper white suit jacket.
"Our vows were very sweet. Evan and I decided to keep them between us and our loved ones who were with us, but there were definitely tears and some laughs," Ashlee recalled to the British edition of Hello! magazine.
Legendary singer and Ashlee’s new mother-in-law Diana wowed guests with a rendition of her famous hit Endless Love, while they also feasted on a four-tiered red velvet cake.
“Both of our mothers were involved on every level, helping us make our wedding the way we wanted it. We couldn't have done it without them," Evan added.
