Sir Elton John will marry his longtime partner David Furnish this weekend.

The legendary 67-year-old musician has been in a relationship with the former advertising executive since 1993 and they are parents to two children together.

Although the pair entered into a civil partnership in 2005, they are planning to officially tie the knot in a few days now that gay marriage is legal in England, Elton’s rep has confirmed to Us Weekly.

Elton noted earlier this year it is important for he and David to exchange vows in honour of his country’s new legislation.

"We'll do it very quietly. But we will do it and it will be a joyous occasion and we will have our children [there]," he said in an interview with Matt Lauer in March. "For this legislation to come through is joyous and we should celebrate it. We shouldn't just say, 'Oh, well, we have a civil partnership, we're not going to bother to get married'. We will get married."

Elton and David share sons Zachary, three, and Elijah, nine months, both born from the same surrogate mother.

And the Grammy-winner previously lamented having waited so long to have kids.

“It was the best decision we ever did,” he gushed to host Dermot O’Leary at an event to celebrate his BRITs Icon Award.

“I wish we had done it 20 years earlier because I am no spring chicken. I understand people criticising for us having children at a late age but to hell with it. We can give these children so much love.”
