Justin Bieber is reportedly “throwing himself into religion”.
The 20-year-old heartthrob is rumoured to have recently called it quits once again with his on-off girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
Selena put on an emotional performance of her single The Heart Wants What It Wants at the American Music Awards last weekend, but Justin is said to have been too busy with spiritual pursuits to support her at the event.
“At first he wanted to go to the show but then his team convinced him not to go because they said he would look like a fool,” a source told Hollywood Life. “Instead he went to New York to listen to a popular preacher. Every time he gets too preoccupied with Selena, he throws himself into religion. He has not even reached out to Selena yet to congratulate her on her performance.”
Selena’s tune The Heart Wants What It Wants is thought to be based on her experiences with Justin.
And apparently he’s upset to be the focal point of her lyrics.
“Justin thinks Selena was exploiting their relationship by being so dramatic on stage and making it seem like he’s the heartbreaker in all of this,” the insider said.
But it’s claimed religion provides Justin with solace as he deals with his and Selena’s relationship.
The badboy singer is known to be good friends with Pastor Carl Lentz and last year he tweeted his appreciation after attending a service by him.
"Amazing sermon at church this morning. Love you man. I broke down today (sic)," Justin wrote.
