Having recently announced the forthcoming release of their seventh studio album ‘Chapter and Verse’, Funeral For A Friend have now unveiled the first music video from the album, ‘1%’.

Vocalist Matthew Davies-Kreye describes the song:

“The idea for the track came from watching the news reports around and after the financial crisis hit; the anger at the banks and financial institutions that lined their own pockets off the backs of the hard working average individual. Theft at the highest level, no sense of remorse, even in the wake of exposure. Hand outs, bonuses, pay increases… It’s like someone rubbing egg in the face of the honest, hard working people who struggle, sometimes with two jobs, raising a family and only just being able to make ends meet.”.

Recorded in two weeks with Lewis Johns (Gnarwolves, Goodtime Boys), ‘Chapter and Verse’ is a classic Funeral For A Friend effort in the spectacular way it melds gruff attitude with melodic choruses, but it also happens to be one of the most sonically diverse and most hard-hitting records the band has ever made. It is a raw and energetic effort that propels the band to a whole new level, whilst simultaneously raising the bar for everyone else.
