Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins visits hmv to sign copies of her new album ‘Home Sweet Home’, which is released on Monday 17th November.

A decade after her record breaking debut ‘Premiere’ Katherine releases ‘Home Sweet Home’, a classical album for the 21st century. Produced by Patrick Hamilton at Abbey Road Studios, the record sees Katherine returning to her classical roots with opening number ‘Land of My Father’ providing a nod to her Welsh heritage.

‘Home Sweet Home’ covers a broad landscape of the world’s most popular classical composers – Bach, Beethoven, Elgar and Holst – alongside the 21st century’s most streamed composuer, Ludovico Einaudi, with a pioneering vocal transcription of his global hit ‘I Giorni’.

Katherine’s enchanting and soaring vocals glide effortlessly through a collection of adored classics from Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé’s ‘Barcelona’ to the harmonic and powerful ‘How Great Thou Art’ which was voted the nation’s favourite hymn of 2013. ‘Home Sweet Home’ includes collaborations with Britain’s best loved tenor Alfie Boe (‘Barcelona’) and virtuoso Violinist David Garrett (‘Ode To Joy’).

Cherished as one of Britain’s favourite singers, Katherine has achieved meteoric success as the world’s most prolific classical crossover artist. Her nine studio albums have sold in excess of eight million copies and are certified platinum around the world. She has received numerous accolades for her recordings including two Classical BRITS for the coveted Album of the Year Award.

In 2013, Katherine headlined the Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace and was awarded an OBE at the 2014 New Years Honours for her services to music and charity. Ten years in to a remarkable musical career, ‘Home Sweet Home’ truly encapsulates Katherine at her prime, returning to what she does best.
