Taylor Swift has reportedly asked Ed Sheeran to be her matchmaker.
The 24-year-old singer has been single for a while, after becoming bored of the way her love life was scrutinised in the media. However, she's now said to be ready to dabble in dating again and has reportedly chosen her good friend Ed to help her out.
"Taylor adores Ed and thinks he's a really good judge of character, so she's asked him to be her matchmaker. He genuinely cares about Taylor and she knows that he won't set her up with any playboys or users," a source told British magazine Heat.
The stars have worked together in the past, with Ed supporting her on part of her Red Tour. Although she trusts him, Taylor has apparently still been clear about the kind of guy she is looking for.
"Taylor has given Ed a checklist. She wants someone who's been single for over six months, so he's not on the rebound, and who's also been in a long-term relationship, which proves he can commit," the insider said. "And while he can be British, NO accents that'll remind her of Harry Styles, who she's still very bitter about."
Ed already has someone in mind, as he apparently believes his good friend Ryan Keen could be the perfect choice. He's said to be working out a way to get Ryan from his UK home to New York City to meet Taylor.
While it's unknown whether she is interested in that plan, Taylor has apparently made Ed a promise.
"She's even joked to Ed that if he finds her a husband, she'll name her first child after him," the source laughed.
