Young Fathers album 'Dead' has won the 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize Award.

The 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show took place tonight - Wednesday, 29 October. The event was held at the Roundhouse in London and hosted by broadcaster Nick Grimshaw.

Simon Frith, Chair of Judges said, “Young Fathers have a unique take on urban British music, brimming with ideas – forceful, unexpected and moving.”

On collecting the winner’s trophy and cheque for £20,000, Young Fathers said, “Thank you, thank you. We love you all!”

The Awards Show, which will be broadcast in full on Channel 4 at 11.40pm this coming Friday, 31 October, saw each of the twelve shortlisted artists perform a track from their ‘Albums of the Year’:
