Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z have reportedly renewed their vows.

The pair, who originally wed in April 2008, have been plagued by split rumours in recent months. But the musicians are said to have dispelled any claims of trouble in paradise by making the decision to re-pledge their love for each other.

“They did have major problems,” a source told People. “But they worked it out and they've renewed their vows."

News the couple have refreshed their wedding vows comes amid further claims they are looking for a house in Paris, France.

According to People, Beyoncé and her husband have looked at a variety of incredibly extravagant properties.

Among the locations the couple have toured is a villa next to the River Seine, a townhouse alongside the Élysée Palace and a property inside ‘Millionaire’s Row’ – one of the most exclusive gated communities in the French capital.

"They want to buy a place in Paris because they have so many memories there and they want to be able to be there more often," a source told Us Weekly magazine. "They plan on retiring in Paris eventually."

Speculation things weren't going well began in May, when the Sweet Dreams singer's sister Solange attacked Jay in an elevator following the Met Gala in New York.

"Beyoncé and Jay have been working overtime to change people's perceptions about their marriage," a source told British magazine Look recently. "They will have known it would be a difficult task, especially when their problems were played out in such an embarrassing and public fashion, but they're committed to showing everyone that they're firmly back on track."

The singers are parents to two-year-old daughter Blue.
