Chris Brown's family are reportedly urging his therapist to convince him to stop associating with gangs.

The 25-year-old singer has caused speculation he is part of the Bloods over and over again, as he has seemingly referred to the LA gang in social media posts and during interviews.

He's also been caught up in several violent episodes, with three people, including Death Row Records founder Suge Knight, shot during a pre MTV Video Music Awards party he hosted he gave last month. This is said to be a huge source of concern for Chris' mother Joyce and his on/off girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

According to TMZ, the women are so concerned they have even been in touch with the therapist Chris is seeing. It's claimed they hope the professional will be able to talk some sense into Chris as they are worried he is putting his life at risk and sabotaging his career. Apparently the star thinks his supposed gang affiliation is "cool", but those close to him believe he is deluded when it comes to the danger he's putting himself in.

The news comes off the back of a report that police in Los Angeles want nightclub owners to ban the R&B star and his entourage because they are so worried that violence flares wherever they go.

Last week someone was stabbed when a fight broke out after the star took to the stage at Supperclub in Hollywood. Although the person was fine, TMZ suggested police were deeply worried that incidents like that occurred wherever Chris and his group of friends go.

"When Brown and his people show, we know what's going to happen. It's a headache for us," a law enforcement insider told the site.

Earlier this year Chris spent time in prison after he breached the terms of his probation for his assault on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna by getting booted out of rehab.
