Cher believes Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett’s collaboration is a “piece of work”.

The pop icon is a big fan of the 28-year-old Born This Way singer, with the pair even working together on an unreleased track last year.

And she took the time to urge her 42 million Twitter followers to listen to the jazz compilation, entitled Cheek to Cheek, at the weekend.

“Hey give a listen 2 #CheektoCheek ITS REALLY AN EXCEPTIONAL PIECE OF WORK!” she wrote, gushing: “Its Beyond Unique.Listen With open Mind,Ears & U Wont B Sorry (sic).”

Cher previously recorded a duet with Gaga for her own 2013 album Closer to the Truth, although it failed to make the final cut because her contemporary wasn’t happy with the final result.

But she has continued to praise Gaga nevertheless, branding her “creative and strong” in another post earlier this year.

Cher’s also spoken about the importance she places on supporting her fellow music artists.

She only wishes other female singers, and their fans, followed suit - particularly online.

"I don't like it when all the Little Monsters [Lady Gaga fans] come down on me, I think young artists don't realise that you have to support one another and there no room for b***hing," Cher previously explained. "Women stand together and so do artists. You might fight if you don't like someone but you still have to support them."

Cher is currently on her Dressed To Kill tour, which wraps in New York City December 15.
