Calvin Harris has a "mutual agreement" not to return to The X Factor.

The Scottish DJ famously jumped on stage during the British version of the singing competition in 2009 with a pineapple on his head, interrupting a performance by Irish twins Jedward. Five years on from the incident, the Summer star has no plans to repeat his antics, as amusing as they were to him.

"We have a mutual agreement, I guess, to stay away from each other. That's something I'd never, ever do again. I can't explain it," he told British magazine Heat. "A lot of people asked at the time, I was like, 'I honestly don't know'. I was at a gig before and there was a pineapple on the rider and I found that quite funny. So I took it to The X Factor, like, 'Oh, this could be funny. I'll pretend to be Jedward’ - the top of the pineapple looks a bit like their hair."

The 30-year-old saw his chance to jump on stage when he realised that the security guard turned away from the crowd. It didn't do his career any harm and Calvin's gone on to have major success with tracks like Blame, Let's Go and Sweet Nothing. But despite being one of the biggest names in music, the Scot hasn’t crossed paths with The X Factor supremo Simon Cowell since his stage invasion.

"There's no real reason for us to meet," he explained. "I don't really go out that much in those circles at all."
