Kimberly Wyatt has joked she and her husband thought they'd have "more time to have fun" before expecting their first child together.

The 32-year-old star tied the knot with spouse Max Rogers in February this year, and last month announced they are to welcome a little girl together.

Kimberly, who rose to fame in hit girl group The Pussycat Dolls, admits it was a shock for her and her hubby when they found, but they are over the moon.

"Max and I have always wanted kids so it was a great surprise when I found out I was pregnant while on honeymoon!" she smiled to British magazine Closer. "We thought we'd have a little more time to have fun - but obviously everything was in very good working order!"

One person Kimberly does have support from outside of her family is former bandmate Ashley Roberts, who has become an honorary Brit with her work on various UK TV shows. While the two pals haven't managed to see each other as much as they'd hoped, Kimberly is thrilled to have her friend by her side. She also noted the fellow blonde will be dubbed Auntie Ash to the little girl.

"She's so excited. She's been on the Saturday Night Takeaway [show] arena tour so we haven't been able to hang out as much as normal, but I did go backstage at the O2 [venue] recently and hung out with her in the dressing room," the expectant mom added. "I got my bump out and she was putting her ear to it. It was amazing!"
