Chris Brown denies being involved in a brawl early Thursday morning.

The 25-year-old singer was performing at the VIP Room in New York City at a New York Fashion Week event in the early hours of September 11.

According to TMZ, a “bottle-throwing” brawl broke out and cops were called to the venue at around 3:20am.

And although some media reports suggest Chris and his entourage may have been involved in the fight, the star took to Twitter to dismiss these rumours.

“There was no brawl involving me or anyone from my camp last night at VIP room. The devil is in full effect at all times. God is the way,” he wrote to his 13.6 million followers.

The Deuces star spent 234 days in jail and rehab over the past year and he was released from custody on June 2.

In a recent interview with Billboard magazine, Chris revealed he transformed his perspective on life while behind bars.

"A guard wakes you up; you eat. You stay in your cell most of the time, basically 24 hours a day,” he detailed in the magazine’s latest issue. “Maybe on Mondays you go to the roof inside of a cage and have a phone call. It’s isolation. You have time to focus on what matters, on what to do and what not to do.

“My maturity level has risen as far as my realising what’s important. Realising that I’m human like everyone else. At the end of the day, it’s just a humbling experience.”

Chris is currently promoting his sixth studio album, X, which is scheduled for release September 15.
