Ed Sheeran has addressed rumours he’s feuding with Miley Cyrus.

The pop stars both attended the MTV VMAs last weekend and speculation is rife Miley may have called him an “a*shole” during the event.

But Ed is bewildered by the gossip because he has yet to establish any type of relationship with her.

“Well, I don't know why people were expecting [a high-five]. I've never met her," he revealed during an On Air with Ryan Seacrest radio interview. "There was a high-five between me and [Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun] because I know him, and that was the only high-five. I don't know what people we're expecting."

Ed referred to Miley’s infamous twerking as a “stripper move” to UK newspaper The Mirror last year.

But despite his statements, the Sing hitmaker confirmed to Ryan on Wednesday he is impressed by Miley’s work.

"I think she's a fantastic artist," he said. "She's got a great voice and writes great songs."

It appears Ed may have found inspiration in his pop star peer’s sexy dance moves for his own career.

Emil Nava, who directed the video for Sing, recently revealed he is mastering some sensational movements for his next music promo.

"He's learning how to booty clap, among other things," Emil joked to E! News previously.

Ed also spoke to the outlet about why he and Emil decided to feature a puppet masquerading as the star in the Sing promo.

The singer figured since a marionette was the music video’s main character, it was only logical to have the doll find itself in compromising situations.

"If you're going to spend that amount of money on a puppet you've got to make it do some crazy stuff," Ed mused.
