Drake apparently finds Rihanna "thrilling".
The rapper and the Barbadian singer have been linked on and off for some time, but are not currently together.
However, this is something Drake, 27, is allegedly keen to change.
“He wants the thrill right now and if Rihanna allows it, he’s in,” a source told HollywoodLife.
“He’s not trying to get serious. They’ve both learned that isn’t possible, at least not right now.”
Rihanna, 26, has a notoriously complicated love life thanks to her on-off relationship with Chris Brown, who assaulted her in 2009.
In 2012 Drake and Chris were involved in a brawl, believed to have been over the superstar singer. The musicians have now patched things up and Drake is thought to be keen to clear the air with his former flame, too.
“He doesn’t want to hold any grudges or have any hard feelings between himself and her so that’s why,” the insider explained. “He hates leaving things up in the air and loves having clarity in everything he does.”
During their time together, plenty of rumours swirled around Rihanna and Drake's relationship. There was gossip of moving in together, marriage and even babies. However, it's thought they would keep things casual if they did start up a romance again.
“He misses that fun, that spark, that energy and connection they had,” the source continued.
Meanwhile, it seems Chris is getting close to his on/off girlfriend Karrueche Tran again. The pair split earlier this month, but have been spotted on cosy dates very recently.
The 25-year-old even posted a picture of Karrueche on Instagram for Woman Crush Wednesday, dedicating a touching message to her.
"@karrueche damn near 5 years and this woman still putting up with my sh*t. Need to have this baby and stop playing! Lol! My WCW (sic)," he wrote.
However, sources confirmed to TMZ that while the model is in love with Chris, she's not looking to have a baby with him any time soon.
