Britney Spears reportedly wants her father Jamie’s conservatorship of her to end so she can marry boyfriend David.

The singer was placed under the care of her father during a court case six years ago.

But the mother-of-two is said to be doing so well that she thinks she can manage on her own.

“Britney doesn’t understand why the conservatorship has lasted this long,” a source told Radar Online.

“She’s so sick of all the bodyguards. And she wants to be out from under her father’s thumb.”

Another reason Britney is said to be keen for the conservatorship to end is so that she can marry boyfriend David Lucado.

“Her relationship with David has never been stronger,” the source added. “She also wants the conservatorship to end so she can be free to marry him.”

However, despite Britney’s faith that she can manage on her own, the source adds that the singer won’t regain her independence anytime soon.

“Even though Britney is doing very well, there are no plans to end the conservatorship anytime soon,” the source said. “Her doctors just don’t think she is ready to be on her own yet.”

It was claimed earlier this year that Britney is already planning to wed David, who she has been dating for over a year, at Elvis Presley’s Graceland property in Memphis, Tennessee.

Britney has already been married twice. Her first wedding was to childhood friend Jason Alexander, but was annulled just 55 hours later.

Her second wedding was to backing dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children, Sean Preston, eight, and seven-year-old Jayden James.
