Aphex-Twin-new-album? Printable version

Richard D. James, also known as Aphex Twin, may have a new album on the way, essentially his first new music since 2001's Drukqs.

Speculation started over the weekend when a blimp was sighted over London with the Aphex Twin logo on the side along with the logo being stenciled on the sidewalk in Manhattan.

On Monday, James tweeted the deep web address syro2eznzea2xbpi.onion/ which is only accessable on the TOR proxy with a great deal of work. Those that made it through (including Stereogum) found references to an album called SYRO along with a supposed track list:

minipops 67 (source field mix)
XMAS_Eve10 (thanaton3 mix)
produk 29
4 bit 9d epi+e+6
180db_
CIRCLONT6A (syrobonkus mix)
fz pseudotimestrech+e+3
CIRCLONT14 (shrymoming mix)
syro u473t8+e (piezoluminescence mix)
PAPAT4 (pineal mix)
s950tx16wasr10 (earth portal mix)
aisatsana

Later in the day, a new, .com, website was posted (syro2eznzea2xbpi.com/) that had the same information but with the track titles X'd out. Interestingly, it appears the trackback information points to the efforts of Stereogum to access the information. The information is followed by about fifty screens worth of blank space until the following appears at the bottom:

More information as it becomes available.

Aphex Twin released their first album, Selected Ambient Works 85-92, in 1992 although Jones pre-dated that release under the name AFX with two EP's in 1991 along with another EP (Bradley's Beat) as Brad Strider.
