Kanye West is reportedly keen to collaborate with Sir Paul McCartney.

The rapper is known to be a fan of The Beatles legend and was spotted backstage when Paul played a set at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles earlier this week.

It could be that the 37-year-old was there to talk business with the legendary singer, 72.

“Kanye and Paul have known each other for a long time but have become more friendly recently," a source divulged to British newspaper The Sun.

“There’s every chance they’ll head into the studio together.

“Kanye really respects music legends and is still putting the finishing touches to his new album."

It wouldn't be the first time Kanye has made sweet music with one of the biggest names in the industry - he's also worked with fellow rapper Jay Z, Sir Elton John and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

However, fans are likely to be kept in the dark about his next move.

“He has been tapping Macca up for a while about working together," the insider continued.

“They’ve had a few meetings with each other but both of them always keep their collaborations under wraps until the last minute.”

The thought of Paul collaborating with Kanye isn't as out of the blue as it might sound. While promoting his music last year, the Beatles star sat down with radio host Zayn Lowe to discuss his track Appreciate, which was produced by Giles Martin.

At the time, he commented he'd "resisted the temptation to get a rapper in".

When Zayn questioned him on who would have been given the honours, he said either Jay Z or Kanye.
