Nas is going on tour this fall.

The rap legend, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of his record Illmatic this year, is hitting the road in October to play more than a dozen dates across North America.

The shows, kicking off in Rochester, New York October 2, will coincide with screenings of his Tribeca Film documentary, Nas: Time Is Illmatic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The rapper will perform his 1994 debut in its entirety at each stop.

The film is scheduled for release in Nas' native New York October 1 and will be available via iTunes two days later.

"I want to thank Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and the Tribeca Film family for all of the love and support they've given Time Is Illmatic," Nas in a statement to THR.

"It is an honour to be in partnership with them, and I feel there is a cultural kinship bonded by the city of New York."

According to the outlet, the development of the Illmatic film came as a surprise to most involved. It began as a small project after Erik Parker, a music editor for VIBE, recruited multimedia producer One9 to shoot a few clips to celebrate the album's tenth anniversary.

'When we started this project, Erik Parker and I couldn't imagine that audiences would one day be able to experience the film with a live performance of Illmatic, the album that started it all," One9, who directed the project, said in a statement.

"It will make each night a truly special moment for the culture. We are sure people of all generations will be inspired by the story of Nas, the Jones family, and electrified by a live performance,' he said.

Nas will follow his show in Rochester with performances in Albany, New York; Washington DC; Glenside, Pennsylvania; Toronto, Canada; Detroit, Michigan; Hammond, Indiana; Lincoln, Nebraska; Denver, Colorado; Seattle, Washington; Vancouver, Canada; Las Vegas, Nevada and Los Angeles, California.

His final show, in Oakland, California, is scheduled for October 19.
