Morrissey is without a record label just four weeks after the release of ‘World Peace is None of Your Business’.
According to the singer’s fan-site and main vehicle for communicating with his fans, True-to-You.net, the decision was made by Capitol Records and Harvest label head Steve Barnett.

Three weeks after the release of Morrissey’s World Peace Is None Of Your Business (#2 UK, #14 US), Capitol Records/Harvest have ended their relationship with Morrissey, as directed by label boss Steve Barnett.
Morrissey is once again in search of a record label.
World Peace started strong in a number of countries, including the U.K. where it premiered at number 2, but after just a month it has dropped to 48. Of the twenty countries where VVN Music follows the sales charts, he is only the top selling veteran artist now in Denmark where the album is number 14.
Last week, Morrissey made a post on the True-to-You website where he took a shot at his new label, criticizing them for not making a video for the new album to help promote it.
Morrissey has had his material released on a number of different labels since leaving the Smiths. From 1988 to 1995, he put out five albums on a variety of Sire related labels (HMV, Parlophone, RCA). His 1997 album Maladjusted was on Island/Mercury followed by two albums on Sanctuary in 2004 and 2006. 2009′s Year of Refusal was put on on Decca/Polydor before his current situation with Harvest/Capitol.
