Christina Aguilera “felt so much love” at her baby shower.
The Genie in a Bottle singer is expecting her first child with fiancé Matthew Rutler. The couple will welcome a little girl very soon but managed to squeeze in a Midsummer Night’s Dream themed baby shower over the weekend.
“It was a really beautiful, fun night,” a guest told People. “Everybody gave toasts and Christina gave a speech about how she felt so much love. She thanked everyone for supporting her and said how excited she was to have a baby girl. It was a really sweet night.”
The 33-year-old is already a mum to six-year-old son Max from her first marriage to music marketing executive Jordan Bratman. The couple separated in 2010 and she met Matthew soon after on the set of the movie Burlesque, before her divorce was finalised in 2011.
Her baby shower was hosted at her stylist’s home in Los Angeles. The scene was set with Moroccan pillow seating stations, candles and soft lights strung throughout the backyard.
“It was very romantic with candles everywhere," another insider told Us Weekly. "Christina looked so happy and excited."
The Fighter singer is also looking forward to getting her figure back after she has her daughter. The star has battled with her weight in the past but before announcing her pregnancy, she allegedly managed to go from a size 16 to a size six in a year.
“Christina cannot wait to meet her daughter, but has told pals she’s determined to get her pre-baby body back once she gives birth,” a source revealed to British magazine Closer. “She and Matthew haven’t set a date for the wedding, but Christina says she wants at least a few months to get into shape.”
