Lea Michele is set to appear in the final season of Sons of Anarchy.

The Glee star, most famous for her role as Rachel Berry in the musical series, will enjoy a change of pace as she stars in the FX drama about a motorcycle club in California.

According to MTV News, Lea will appear in the show as Gertie, an “empathetic truck stop waitress and single mother”.

FX also told MTV that Gertie will build a close relationship with Katey Sagal’s character Gemma during “a difficult time”.

Lea and Katey have already worked together, as Katey starred as Kevin McHale’s character Artie’s mother on a previous episode of Glee.

An excited Lea confirmed her new role by writing on her Twitter page: “I'll be appearing on an episode of my favorite show @SonsofAnarchy! Thank you so much @Harparbar & @sutterink #SOAFX (sic).”

Lea isn’t the only familiar face to make an appearance in the upcoming last season of the show. Controversial musicians Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love will also be popping up in the series.

In recent months, Lea has been concentrating on her music career, following the release of her debut album Louder.

Aside from Glee, she has appeared as a guest star in shows including Third Watch and The Simpsons. She is also expected to take the lead role of Elphaba in an upcoming big screen adaptation of the musical Wicked.

Sons of Anarchy, which stars Charlie Hunnam, is the highest-rated show in FX history. The seventh and final season will premiere on September 9th.
