Simon Cowell “can’t believe” Cheryl Cole got married.
The former Girls Aloud singer shocked the world by confirming her marriage to boyfriend Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini at the weekend. But even some of her closest friends and confidantes, like Simon, were just as surprised.
“I still can't believe my lil buddy Cheryl got married,” he tweeted Thursday. “Had no idea. He is a great guy. Am very happy for them.”
The 31-year-old had reportedly been dating the French entrepreneur for three months before they held their nuptials on a beach on the island of Mustique on July 7. The star’s mother, Joan, and assistant Lily England were reportedly among those present.
However, there has been some criticism of their relationship with one of Jean’s friends warning Cheryl via British newspaper The Sun that the 33-year-old has “an eye for the ladies”. The man, Curtis Jones, thinks the Call My Name singer will have her work cut out changing his behaviour.
“I'm so happy he has found love - but I would say to Cheryl she's got to keep a close eye on Jean,” he told the publication.
“He definitely has an eye for the ladies and they love him too. When we used to go out together they would flock around us...He is a wild man - I don't think he can be tamed.”
However, Cheryl was quick to respond to the claims in the only way she knew how. The X Factor judge posted a picture on Instagram of a graphic which read: “I heard you’re a player. Nice to meet you, I’m the coach.”
