After their storming set at the 100 Club last night, Sheffield duo Slow Club are set to release their sublime new single ‘The Pieces’ August 25th on Caroline.
‘The Pieces’ is the third single from the stunning new LP ‘Complete Surrender’, and sees multi-instrumentalists Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor sharing vocal duties over a backdrop of guitar, brass and sax.
Produced by Colin Elliot (Richard Hawley) ‘Complete Surrender’ has had the critics purring, with The Guardian saying it is ‘bombastic, Motown soul’ in their 4* review, The Evening Standard that ‘Slow Club deal in classy pop soul’, Clash that ‘Complete Surrender shimmers with quality arrangements and emotive songwriting’ and The Sun calling it a ‘pristinely crafted album that marks a real progression’.
