Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson looked “so in love” on honeymoon.

The 34-year-old married retired NFL player Eric on July 5 in California in front of friends and family. The couple then headed off on a romantic honeymoon to the Four Seasons Punta Mita Resort in Mexico where they have got some much needed R&R.

“They had an amazing time and looked so in love during the entire visit," an eyewitness told Us Weekly. "They enjoyed cocktails by the pool and spent a lot of time on the beach, just relaxing after their big day."

Jessica and her 34-year-old beau were rumoured to be staying in one of the hotel's presidential suites. And despite all the activities available at the resort, including a spa, the newlyweds chose to avoid them all.

“They just let the natural surroundings put them at peace," added the insider. "They [were] lounging around at the resort and enjoying their first week together as husband and wife."

The couple appear to have left their two children, daughter Maxwell, two and son Ace, one, at home. But the children were the stars of the wedding according to Jessica.

“It's all about family for us," she told People magazine in its cover story. “Before I walked out, I kept hearing all the applause, so my kids got standing ovations!"

The nuptials took place at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, with 275 of the couple’s friends and family invited to share the day. Jessica walked down the aisle wearing a strapless champagne and gold gown with tulle layers, which was designed by Carolina Herrera.

“I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying,” Eric recalled. “I think my heart was exploding a little.”
