Jessica Simpson’s fiancé reportedly spent Thursday with his groomsmen ahead of the couple’s impending nuptials.
The 33-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer is expected to tie the knot with Eric Johnson, 34, at the Bacara Resort & Spa outside of Santa Barbara, California.
And Us Weekly is fuelling reports the couple appear to be have plans for a July 4 weekend wedding after the former American football player was seen hitting the nearby Sandpiper Golf Course with a group of 20 pals.
"They were a really attractive group!" an eyewitness told the outlet, claiming members of the group said they were in town for a “secretive” wedding.
"They played 18 holes and drank lots of Bud Lights!" the insider said.
Jessica’s father, Joe Simpson, was reportedly among the group. And the men apparently got plenty of attention from onlookers.
"There were definitely a lot of Southern accents. The guys were all super hot!" a source said, adding, “When they all arrived, they were really boisterous, greeting and hugging each other. They had a really good time."
Eric and Jessica have been engaged for four years now, making the announcement just five months after they began dating.
The couple share two children, two-year-old daughter Maxwell and 12-month-old son Ace.
Us Weekly reports that while most of the wedding details remain secret, a source has said Jessica had a “unique” dress made for the ceremony.
"The wedding will be very rustic-chic,” another insider added.
Jessica was previously married to 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey. Their four-year union ended in 2006.
