Bobbi Kristina Brown has fired back at Angela Bassett after the star dismissed her acting skills.

The 21-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown is fuming about the list of reasons her mother’s Waiting to Exhale co-star listed explaining why Bobbi Kristina wasn’t cast in her Lifetime biopic about her Grammy-winning mother.

The New York Daily News reports Bobbi Kristina took several digs at Angela on Twitter at the weekend.

"Ha MsAng 'bassketcase' has such a d**n nerve my lord," she wrote, mocking the 55-year-old star.

"At least the world doesn't mistake me for the wrong sex … she has some #XtraEquipment… When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I'll be sure 2shout URname out b—h!” Bobbi Kristina continued, adding, “Hah UrTestResults = Male. Lmao" (sic).

The aspiring actress’ remarks follow days after Angela spoke to Entertainment Weekly about making her directorial debut with the Lifetime biopic, starring America’s Next Top Model contestant Yaya DeCosta in the leading role.

Asked about her decision to pass on Whitney’s daughter, Angela reasoned: “I did not think about casting her. And probably for a number of reasons, you know.

"One being that she's not an actress. I know she's acted here and there. I know she's been on their family's reality show, but she's not an actress and acting is a craft."

Angela said she plans to explore Whitney’s relationship with Bobbi Kristina’s father and hopes to “illuminate the complexities of human behaviour and life”.

But the actress-turned-director admitted it will be a challenge to accomplish all of her goals with the project.

"This is a very fast-paced schedule; we have just 21 days to tell this story. It's more than just saying lines and turning the light on. You have to drive the story -- there's a technical aspect,” she said.
