Lorde is struggling to record new music because of a "ghost hum" on her demos.
The Royals singer has returned to the recording studio to work on a follow-up to her debut album Pure Heroine. But her sessions are being disturbed by some spooky goings on.
"Ghosts in the studio don't want us to record tonight, they leaving their ghost hum on everything. buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (sic)," the 17-year-old wrote on her Twitter account.
Lorde, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, has won a Brit Award and two Grammy Awards since bursting on to the international music scene last year. Fans will be thrilled to know that spooky occurrences aside, the New Zealander is working hard on new music. And Lorde revealed last month that her followers can expect to hear something different this time around.
"I think I've learnt so much as a songwriter, there's going to be so much of an improvement because of that,' she said. 'I'm working on stuff quite tentatively, it's definitely still at the beginning and yeah, it's totally different. I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me. Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe.'
The Team singer may have announced a US tour that kicks off in August, but the hardworking star decided to pull out of British music festival Glastonbury in favour of time with her relatives. It seems to be a decision she doesn't regret.
"Pulling out of Glastonbury in the name of family time was a tough decision but o boy I am not jealous of that mud (sic)," she tweeted on Saturday, along with a picture of her bare, clean feet.
