Randy Travis still not talking 12 months after stroke

Country legend Randy Travis is reportedly unable to speak and walks with the help of a cane one year after suffering a stroke.

It was in early July of last year that Travis was hospitalized with what was, at first, thought to be a heart condition but was later revealed to be a stroke. While it was known that he would need a good deal of rehabilitation, it is only now being revealed the extent of his brain damage.

According to TMZ, people in the know with the singer have told them that he is unable to speak with one source saying that they doubted he was lucid enough to understand what is being said around him. Another source, a therapist, said they wouldn’t be surprised if he was able to take the stage in possibly three years.

Travis has been to a couple of events and photographed with friends and artists but it is not clear if these were just photo ops.
