Headline has acquired world rights in a debut non-fiction title by cult musician Frank Turner.
Scheduled for hardback publication in Spring 2015, the book will chart Turner’s career from the last ever show with his band Million Dead all the way through to his triumphant solo headlining gigs at Wembley Arena and the Olympics Opening ceremony.
Frank Turner is a singer/songwriter from Winchester. He has released five EPs and five studio albums, including his latest, the critically acclaimed Tape Deck Heart. To date he has played 1,584 solo shows across the world, including a sold-out gig at Wembley Arena. In 2012 he played at the Olympics Opening Ceremony by personal invitation of Danny Boyle.
Editor Richard Roper, who acquired world rights from Charlie Caplowe at Xtra Mile, said: “Frank has established himself as one of the most exciting musicians around. Frank Turner said: “It took some persuading for me to think about writing a book of any kind, but in the end I realised that I have spent a pretty unusual amount of time touring hard in the last few years, and I have a fair few stories to tell, and maybe even a tiny smidgen of wisdom to impart to people starting out on the same path. Plus I come from a family of yarn-spinners, and I can run my mouth, so it makes sense.”
