Katy Perry has started her own record label.

The Dark Horse singer has launched her own company called Metamorphosis Music, which is a joint venture with Capitol Records.

The 25-year-old pop star has already signed her first artist, singer Ferras.

“I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS! @ferras” Katy tweeted on Tuesday night.

The day before the reveal the singer had hinted at the news on the social networking website.

Katy has worked with Ferras on his track Legends Never Die. She is also his executive producer.

“Ferras is a man with a message, and a unique lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen. Speak in Tongues is a song with raw emotional power that I wish I wrote. I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold. I am SO ecstatic the world gets to hear his music now both online and on tour with me,” the starlet revealed in a statement published on MTV News.

Ferras’ self-titled EP was released digitally on Tuesday on Metamorphosis Music/Capital Records. The EP includes five songs: Speak in Tongues, No Good in Goodnight, King of Sabotage, Champagne and Legends Never Die.

"Her instincts are really on point. She is very blunt and doesn’t sugar-coat things, which I appreciate. Also, she gave me the freedom to do what I wanted musically and was a natural partner," the Los Angeles-based singer said of Katy.
