Lily Allen and her husband are reportedly "not in the best place" at the moment.

The 29-year-old singer returned to the limelight with a bang last year, after taking time out to look after her daughters with husband Sam Cooper, Marnie and Ethel. Alongside her album Sheezus, which features controversial lyrics about fellow musicians, Lily has also been giving outspoken interviews and wearing revealing outfits during performances. This is said to be causing problems in her marriage.

"It's no secret that Lily and Sam aren't in the best place. He's proud of Lily, but fears he's sometimes at the bottom of her list of prioritises," a source told British magazine Closer.

To add to Sam's worries, Lily was spotted out with ex-boyfriend Seb Chew earlier this month. The pair dated for two-and-a-half years before splitting up in 2007, but friends insist the DJ is simply offering her words of advice for her music.

"Seb's supporting her with her career," a source added.

Lily previously announced she was retiring from music, which is why fans were surprised when she returned with new material. Sam is said to feel abandoned by his wife and her need to constantly work, especially with two young children.

"Lily's priority will always be her family, but she was in a different place when she got with Sam - she was done with showbiz and wanted marriage and babies. But she realised she was unhappy and has worked hard to get back into the charts," the insider added.

"Sam loves Lily to bits, but he can't help feeling she's rejected a part of their lives together."
